Radiator and pipe sizing of current and proposed current flow, temperature and possible upgrades.  Suitable for reviewing existing systems, looking for increased efficiency or DIY heat pump installs that are not looking for MCS accreditation.

03.

New build SAP assesment

Approved Building Control Part L SAP assessment for new builds, Design and as build assessment, qualification of current plans or working together to find the most efficient and cost-effective solution.

04.

Extensions Weighted U Value

Approved Building Control Part L alternative approach to using maximum U values for extensions. This approach is simpler than a full SAP assessment and allows you to trade off lower U-values in one part of the building for increased U-values elsewhere.  Used for overglazed extensions or useful to benefit from a cheap U value increase i.e Loft insulation over an expensive option like wall insulation in the extension. They are relaxed, but there are maximum U-value limits to work within. In Wales, consequential improvements are also a large factor.

05.

Extensions / Conversions whole house SAP Equivalent primary energy and carbon target

Approved Building Control Part L alternative approach using SAP assessment.  Like the Weighted U value approach of trading one improvement to offset another, the SAP approach can go beyond fabric U values and includes boilers upgrade Solar installs to offset lower performance elsewhere. The energy and carbon emissions just need to be no worse than using the default values. They are relaxed, but there are maximum U-value limits to work within.  In Wales, consequential improvements are also a large factor.

06.

calcualtion of payback time for fabric upgrades for listed buildings or Part L

Using SAP to calculate the payback time for upgraded elements as evidence not to meet or use higher values than the minimum Part L requirement. Calculated energy saving per element over the 5-year payback period.
